The CSI project is led by South Yorkshire Forest Partnership (a National Community Forest partner) and involves Local Authorities, Universities and Investment Agencies in South Yorkshire, Walloon Region, Belgium and North Rhine Westphalia, Germany. This partnership has secured funding from INTERREG (European Funding) and a series of national and regional organisations including Yorkshire Forward and the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG).
The partners intend to help improve the image of the participating regions to investors, and to ensure that the necessary economic emphasis is given to the environment in strategic and funding decisions. The CSI project aims to address the lack of evidence of the link between environmental quality and economic activity, and particularly of the impact of landscape quality on investors’ location decisions.
